Astrology, rooted in ancient divination, proposes celestial influences on human identities and destinies. In contemporary society, however, astrology often appears as simplified, mass-produced zodiac narratives. Drawing upon Roland Barthes' theory of semiotics, these zodiac archetypes function as cultural signs embedded within popular culture. Individuals subconsciously internalise and perform these socially constructed symbols, shaping personalities, behaviours, and interpersonal interactions.

Inspired by this critical examination, EGOTISTICAL INDULGENCE is an immersive multimedia project uniting graphic design, 3D visuals, augmented reality (AR), and symbolic semiotics. Through visual experimentation and interactive experiences, the project encourages viewers to question the authenticity of their identities: Are we genuinely self-defined, or are we merely embodying identities scripted by the symbolic language of pop astrology?
